September 2018 Newsletter

MONTHLY UPDATE -- SEPTEMBER 2018 If this is your first newsletter, and you are surprised to receive it, please see the President's Letter in the August 2018 newsletter at https://cfer.org/newsletter/vfd2018q3/index.php for an explanation. To read this newsletter in your browser, and for all the back issues, go to https://cfer.org/newsletter/.

For the first time ever, a California city will be moving to Cumulative Voting! This is happening as the result of a California Voting Rights Act lawsuit. It was a mutually agreeable choice by the city of Mission Viejo and Mission Viejo community activists. It has been approved by a judge. You can read more about Mission Viejo and its move to Cumulative Voting here. You can learn more about Cumulative Voting at Fairvote.org, CfER's Glossary, or Wikipedia. We'll send you another Voice for Democracy Update in October. -- CfER Staff
