Ava Johnson, CfER’s 2026 Intern, is a second year Political Science and Global Studies major at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her work with CfER centered on increasing student participation in electoral reform by conducting nationwide organizational research, interviewing electoral reform leaders, and developing a resource hub that connects students with volunteer and internship opportunities. Through this project, she hopes to make pathways into electoral reform more accessible.
Outside of CfER, Ava is involved with Gauchos Vote Coalition and Campus Democrats at UC Santa Barbara. In the future, she plans to pursue a career focused on advancing democratic integrity and effective governance.
